Program Description:
The PREM Program combines the study of research design statistical methods, measurement and assessment, data management and research technology, and program evaluation in psychology and education with a research focus on major contemporary policy issues. The programs are designed to prepare students for research and academic careers in psychology, education, and related human services fields. Graduates are expected to be able to contribute significantly to human welfare through the empirical evaluation and development of more effective programs, practices, and policy addressing a wide variety of human needs.
In addition to developing expertise in advanced methods of policy research, students select and study an active field of policy development and evaluation such as school restructuring, bilingual education, dropout prevention, child abuse, or others. The curriculum is tailored to the student's particular interests and background, and integrates research methods with policy content. Research experience is an integral part of the curriculum.
