Program Description:

Education, Culture, and Society (ECS) is an interdisciplinary program that provides students with an opportunity to study education as a social institution and the distinctive kinds of social and cultural processes associated with it. ECS serves two constituencies: students who wish to acquire advanced graduate education in history, anthropology, or philosophy of education and students with a more general interest in the social and intellectual foundations of American education.
