Program Description:

The Fels Institute of Government was founded in 1937 by Philadelphia industrialist Samuel Fels and has the distinction of being one of the oldest programs in public service in the country. Over the course of its 70 year history, the Fels program has provided students with a combination of management and political skills that has proven to be an effective formula. As a result, Fels graduates hold leadership positions at all levels of government, in nonprofit organizations, and in related private firms. Fels offers a Master of Governmental Administration (MGA) that is comparable to a Master of Public Administration. It also offers 5-course graduate level certificates in Public Finance; Nonprofit Administration; Politics; and Economic Development and Growth. The certificates can be obtained either as a concentration within the MGA or as a stand alone diploma.
