Program Description:
Students specializing in Learning and Motivation acquire skill in research and enjoy the excitement and fascination of science by working closely with one or more professors in research. Students may participate in formal study and experimental investigation of instrumental and Pavlovian conditioning (e.g.,., acquired motives, conditioned inhibition); human associative learning (e.g.,., implicit associative responses); human memory (e.g. influence of the environmental context, individual differences); enhancement of minority education by application of learning principles, human social learning (e.g., social analogs of conditioning with compound cues), and social motivation (e.g.,., competitive motivation, altruistic rewards).
