Program Description:
Courses have a strong practical experience base, providing teacher candidates with opportunities to learn theory and obtain practice in the various subject areas that comprise the elementary-school curriculum. The field experience portion of the program includes: Reading Diagnosis in a tutoring setting, a practicum field experience, and a student teaching experience in an elementary classroom. Upon completing the licensure portion of the program successful candidates will complete the Master of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education (included in the 46 credits).
The Master of Arts in Teaching: Elementary Education with Initial Licensure Program is offered at the Loveland, Denver, and Colorado Springs Centers and on our University of Northern Colorado Greeley campus.

Eligibility Requirements:
3.0 GPA on last 60 credits or a GRE score of 900 or above, BA or BS.
