Program Description:

The School of Music is a vibrant and vital community of musical performers, composers, scholars, and educators. With 500 music majors ranging from freshmen to doctoral level, 60 faculty, and 8 staff, the School of Music is actively engaged in creating and learning about music of all styles and genres. Indeed, music faculty and students present hundreds of outstanding recitals, concerts, and special events each year. The School is an exciting musical environment where students have the opportunity to experience tremendous growth.

UNC-educated musicians have gone on to success in every musical discipline and field imaginable including orchestral and band performance, opera, composition, jazz performance and arranging, film scoring, conducting, solo instrumental and vocal performance, music publishing, and more. Our graduates are successful as educators in classrooms from Greeley to Los Angeles, New York, and Bangkok, at all levels of instruction. Designated a Program of Excellence by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, the UNC School of Music provides a comprehensive range of degrees and programs for aspiring musicians.
