Program Description:

The Educational Specialist program is designed for those students who wish to become school psychologist practitioners. Training is primarily oriented toward the acquisition of those skills necessary for effective functioning in the educational environment and includes skill development in the areas of direct intervention, assessment, consultation, and program evaluation.

Graduates are eligible for state licensure through the Department of Education and National Certification as a School Psychologist..

Eligibility Requirements:

Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 and combined GRE scores of 1000, 3 letters of recommendation, goal statement

International Student Requirements:

• An international student is neither a citizen of the United States nor classified by United States Immigration and Naturalization Service as a Lawful Permanent Resident or Permanent Resident Alien. • International undergraduate, transfer, and graduate applicants must meet English Language proficiency requirements before being fully admitted to the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). One option to demonstrate English Language proficiency is to successfully complete the UNC Intensive English Language Program (IEP).
