Program Description:

The Ph.D. in Chemical Education is an innovative doctoral program designed for individuals who intend to pursue careers in chemical education research and/or teaching at the high school or university level. The program structure insures that all candidates for the degree receive comprehensive background and breadth in the subdisciplines of chemistry needed to teach a broad range of chemical topics at the university level. Graduate course work in chemistry is accompanied by courses in learning theory, science curricula, research methods and supporting pedagogical electives which enable the graduate to undertake research in the teaching and learning of chemistry.

International Student Requirements:

• An international student is neither a citizen of the United States nor classified by United States Immigration and Naturalization Service as a Lawful Permanent Resident or Permanent Resident Alien. • International undergraduate, transfer, and graduate applicants must meet English Language proficiency requirements before being fully admitted to the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). One option to demonstrate English Language proficiency is to successfully complete the UNC Intensive English Language Program (IEP).
