Program Description:
Health Psychology is a natural science approach to the promotion of health, the prevention and treatment of illness, and the identification of etiological and diagnostic correlates of illness and health. The theoretical basis of our doctoral program is one based on knowledge of the physiological, psychological, and environmental concomitants of illness and health. Our program emphasizes an interdisciplinary understanding of the total matrix of biopsychosocial factors and techniques relevant to health and illness and the applications of this knowledge to developing models and prototypical programs for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
