Program Description:

The University of North Dakota’s online Graduate Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship focuses on developing your entrepreneurial skills to enhance the social sector, including:
-entrepreneurial principles
-ventures and social enterprises
-the “business” of solving social problems

Through online courses, you will explore the:
-concepts of social entrepreneurship.
-methods and techniques of entrepreneurship.
-steps required to create social enterprises and ventures.
-management of ventures and social enterprises.
-building of advocacy campaigns.

As a graduate of the online program, you will be better equipped to:
-positively impact social problems at the community, state, regional, national, or international level.
-leverage assets and your imagination to serve your community's needs.
-create and foster sustainable organizations that support social change.
-succeed in an increasingly diverse and interdependent world.

UND’s part-time, online program is designed for working professionals who are unable to complete an on-campus program. You are not required to come to campus at any time.

Pay in-state tuition rates for online courses regardless of where you live. Compared to paying the out-of-state tuition rate, this can translate into big savings for you!

All courses in the Graduate Certificate program may be applied to a fully-online Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree should you be admitted at a later date.

The University of North Dakota as a whole is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Eligibility Requirements:

-A baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution.
-An overall grade point average (based on 4.00 scale) of at least 2.75 in an undergraduate degree program or at least 3.00 for the last 2 years of undergraduate work.
-Personal Statement of Goals.
-Official transcripts of all coursework completed.
-Two letters of recommendation.
-Professional resume describing relevant work experience.

If English is not your native language, you must complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) prior to admission. If you have received a bachelor's degree or higher from the United States or English-speaking Canada, you are not required to fulfill the English test requirement.
