Program Description:
The Occupational Therapy Department offers a five-year entry level Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) Degree. Occupational Therapy as a profession is based on the belief that occupation, including its interpersonal and environmental components, may be used to prevent and mediate dysfunction and elicit maximum adaptation. The Occupational Therapy Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).

All basic professional programs must comply with the Standards for an Accredited Educational Program for the Occupational Therapist, 2006. Graduates of the program will be able to sit for the national entry-level certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT, 800 South Frederick Avenue, Suite 200, Gaithersburg, MD 20877-4150; phone 301-990-7979. After successful completion of this examination the graduate will be an Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR). Most states require licensure in order to practice.

UND is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. UND also holds many special accreditation's at the college, department, or program level.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants who are seeking admission to Graduate School must meet all of the minimum general graduate school admission requirements identified in the Graduate School Catalog. In addition, the prospective students must fulfill the requirements for admission to the graduate program to which they are applying.
International Student Requirements:
All graduate applicants must demonstrate academic-level proficiency with the English language before they will be considered for admission. This requirement must be met by all applicants, regardless of citizenship, residency, or nation of birth. No applicants will be considered for admission until the English Language Proficiency is met. Please refer to the Academic Catalog for ways in which this requirement can be met.
