Program Description:
The online Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) Graduate Certificate prepares you to serve individuals with ASD in a variety of settings, including at home or in schools, hospitals, state and private institutions, or other human service agencies.
This part-time, online program will develop the skills and tools you need to address the challenges individuals with ASD face.
With the online ASD Graduate Certificate, you will:
-Receive specialized training and resources designed for professionals, practitioners, and families.
-Learn from faculty in special education, speech and language pathology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, and counseling psychology.
-Review the latest research on providing quality, lifelong services.
-Gain access to a support network of professionals and caregivers who work with ASD individuals in rural settings.
Fully online; you will participate in most class activities at the time and place of your choice. You are NOT required to come to campus at any time. In addition, you will participate in weekly "live chat" sessions. Every effort will be made to schedule chat sessions around students' work schedules.

Eligibility Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in one of the following fields: general education (PreK-12); special education; communication disorders; occupational therapy; physical therapy; pre-medicine; nursing; social work; adaptive physical education; recreation therapy; music therapy. -An undergraduate GPA of 2.75 overall or a GPA of 3.00 in the last 2 years of your undergraduate program.

If English is not your native language, you must complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) prior to admission. If you have received a bachelor’s degree or higher from the United States or English-speaking Canada, you are not required to fulfill the English test requirement.
