Program Description:

Aside from its training for citizenship, the Doctor of Philosophy and the Master of Arts in History offers excellent preparation for those planning to teach the subject at all educational levels. Our graduate students have gone on to fine Ph.D. programs; many have found positions at community colleges and secondary schools. Still others find a variety of employments in the fields of government and business. Our Public History track within the M.A. provides training in archival, museum, and historical preservation work. In all cases the Ph.D or M.A. in History can improve those analytic, research, and writing skills which, by all recent evidence, are in great demand on today's labor market.
