Since the University of North Alabama was restructured as the South's first state teachers college in 1872, UNA's College of Education has had a long,distinguished, and storied tradition. The College of Education is nationallyrecognized and is accredited by the National Council of Accreditation for Teacher Education (NCATE). Because of this accreditation, teacher education graduates are able to compete successfully for teaching positions in Alabama and in all other states in our union.
