Program Description:

The occupational therapy educational program at the University of New England is an entry-level master's program that takes five years to complete. Following the initial two years of study, a student may be accepted into the professional component of the program if the student meets the acceptance requirements. The professional curriculum combines classroom and fieldwork learning. UNE accepts qualified transfer students. Students wanting to enter the occupational therapy program (including COTAs and internal/external transfer students) will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Students with a bachelor's degree in another field will not be held responsible for the UNE core curriculum courses. Those who transfer in with two years of course work will not be responsible for the first two years of the core curriculum.

Accreditation:

The University of New England is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges as well as by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants interested in the Masters in Occupational Therapy program must submit a completed online application located at www.une.edu. Any questions reguarding admission into the Occupational Therapy program should be directed to the Office of Graduate and Professional Admissions or by email.

Applicants from outside the United States should submit their applications together with a financial affidavit and TOFFEL scores (if their primary language is not English) at an early date because additional time is required to process these applications. Minimum TOFFEL scores required by the University of New England: Paper based-550; computer based- 213; internet based-79.
