Program Description:

The graduate program is centered within the Departments of Pharmacology and Physiology within the University of Nevada School of Medicine. The program culminates in the Doctor of Philosophy degree. Student research emphasis may be in areas such as molecular pharmacology and biophysics of receptors and ion channels, biochemistry of signal transduction, cardiovascular and neuropharmacology at the tissue, cell and molecular levels, the molecular mechanics of smooth muscle contraction, biophysical modeling, and the electrophysiologic basis of excitability in vascular and visceral smooth muscles. The research faculty are highly motivated scientists with well-funded, collaborative programs employing state-of-the-art methods and equipment.
