Program Description:
The Community Counseling program is designed to train counselors to work in a community setting with individuals experiencing a variety of concerns. These include difficulties with addictions to substances or behaviors, career choices, developmental tasks, adjustment to disability, and mental health issues. The Marriage and Family Counseling Program is designed to prepare practitioners to work in a number of mental health settings with individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a wide range of difficulties. These include such issues as parenting and child behavior management, communication, abuse, sex, financial management, extended family relationships, substance abuse and addictions, normative and non-normative developmental transitions, and a host of other situations and problems.
