As the pioneer in agribusiness education, our MBA Agribusiness Specialization is uniquely designed so students receive the core business administration knowledge that business leaders look for in potential executives, as well as a focus on agribusiness that allows them to reach their professional and career goals. Farm management, bio-terrorism, community development and alternative energies are just some of the agribusiness frontiers our students are exploring.
The MBA degree with a specialization in Agribusiness will prepare you for career opportunities within the agribusiness industry.
For those already employed in the Agribusiness sector, the MBA specialization in Agribusiness will provide the traditional MBA curriculum to prepare you for management positions within your company while intermingling courses that will apply directly or indirectly to your occupation.
UNL’s distance learning MBA Program was recognized by U.S. News and World Report with a "Best Graduate Schools" ranking for 2012. It has also been a Top 40 Distance Learning and MBA provider designated by the Financial Times. The program recognizes the needs of the adult learner, emphasizes managerial skills such as team building, and utilizes case analysis and presentations, allowing immediate application to the workplace.
The purpose of the MBA program at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln is to prepare graduates to assume managerial positions in a variety of business areas.
Program objectives include:
•A basic understanding of the various facets of the business enterprise.
•The ability to solve complex business problems by using a combination of tools and skills.
•The acquisition of skills and standards that are in demand by employers, including computer and quantitative skills and personal skills, such as leadership, teamwork and communication.
The Distance MBA curriculum consists of 16, three semester-hour courses for a total of 48 semester hours.

Breadth Requirements (9 hours)
Three classes required, choose one class from three of the five disciplines below:
•Accounting
•Finance
•Marketing
•Management
•Agricultural Economics
**At least two courses must be graduate only (800 or 900 level); any Agricultural Economics class taken in this area must be 800 level or above.
Elective Requirements (9 hours)
Areas of study for Agribusiness Electives include: Agricultural Economics and other appropriate graduate courses offered in the College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources taken with the approval of your agribusiness faculty advisor.
Internships (1-3 hours)
An internship is highly encouraged for students with no previous work experience. Hours count toward the elective requirements. All Agribusiness students are encouraged to participate in internships, take advantage of professional association meetings.
