Program Description:

MUÆs online master of education program is designed for practicing teachers at any grade level who want to obtain an advanced degree. This program is composed of core courses and courses focused in social studies. The core course work includes study in learning theory, instructional technology, instructional leadership, instructional strategies and measurement and assessment, and action research. These courses are designed to enhance the process of teaching and learning in the elementary, middle or high school classroom. All core courses are online and accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. Students learn from MU faculty and lecturers and engage in the same types of experiences as face-to-face courses, including readings, discussion with faculty and other students and research projects. Focus area courses include a combination of online course work and campus visits. No thesis is required. This program does not provide social studies or teaching certification.
