The Department of Psychology at the University of Missouri is now offering a concentration in Health Psychology. Health Psychology is an important and rapidly growing area of psychological research that has contributed substantially to our understanding of psychological and behavioral factors in health and illness. Indeed, psychologists have an increasingly important role to play in efforts to understand patterns of illness and health because of the major role assumed by behavioral and lifestyle factors in the etiology and course of most illnesses.
