Program Description:

German and Russian Studies offers degrees in two languages and cultures of continuing importance in the world today, German and Russian, as well as the opportunity to take two other languages of increasing significance in a global economy, Japanese and Chinese. Recent dramatic events--the fall of the Berlin wall, the reunification of Germany, and the collapse of the Soviet Union--have both enhanced and radically altered the economic and cultural significance of the two principal languages that our department teaches. Moreover, the state of Missouri has a rich German heritage
