Program Description:

The program emphasizes the application of chemical principles to research on the action of drugs on biological systems. Areas of research include drug design and synthesis; chemical aspects of drug metabolism; chemical mechanisms of drug toxicity and carcinogenicity; computer-assisted drug design; pharmaceutical cell systems; delivery systems for gene therapy; nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopic analysis of drug-protein interactions; design of catalytic antibodies; and development of radio pharmaceuticals.
