Program Description:
A student choosing to pursue literacy education in the college will work with faculty members who are nationally known scholars in the field of literacy studies and whose textbooks and research form the basis of a significant amount of the work being done in the field today. In addition, the college is home to the Literacy Initiative, a collaborative outreach program designed to raise the literacy rates of Twin Cities children that involves the University, Twin Cities school districts, and a wide range of community organizations.
