Program Description:

As one of the leading research universities in the world, the University of Michigan provides a dynamic environment for training in toxicology. Training in toxicology is offered through the Toxicology Program of the Department of Environmental Sciences in the School of Public Health and through an interdepartmental predoctoral Environmental Toxicology Training Program. Students may enroll in graduate programs in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences leading to the Ph.D., M.S. or M.P.H. degree. Eligible students enrolled in other departments may participate in the interdepartmental predoctoral Environmental Toxicology Training Program, also. Programs leading to the Ph.D. and M.S. degrees emphasize research training, whereas the M.P.H. program prepares students for careers in public health practice. Training fellowships are available to eligible applicants through an NIEHS-sponsored training grant in Environmental Toxicology, University of Michigan fellowships, School of Public Health fellowships, teaching assistantships and research grants of Training Faculty. The University of Michigan and the training programs in toxicology offer diverse scholastic communities committed to the inclusion of under-represented minorities.
