Program Description:
The Department of Near Eastern Studies offers concentrations in Ancient and Biblical Studies, Arabic, Armenian, Persian, Turkish and Islamic Studies, Hebrew and Judaic Culture Studies, Arabic Linguistics, and Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language; the Department's language offerings provide the foundation for the academic study of the literatures, histories and cultures of the region. The University Library Near Eastern Division catalogue includes over 320,000 volumes; Graduate Student Instructor positions and fellowships are available.
