Program Description:
The long-standing concentration in American Culture approaches studies in our national character, institutions, and themes from multiple disciplinary perspectives. The program enables students to examine their own experience in a meaningful context of American ideas. It addresses four major audiences:
-Teachers and others in educational institutions who seek professional improvement
-Individuals in non-profit and governmental organizations who desire a stronger background in issues confronting our nation
-Students who use the program as a stepping stone to more advanced graduate study
-Those who seek enrichment through intellectual stimulation and greater breadth of academic experience
