Mathematics is crucial for success in school and in life. Without solid mathematics skills, the teaching and learning of many other subjects becomes considerably more difficult--for teachers and students alike. UM-Flint's mathematics program understands these realities too, and is designed to equip educators who have made mathematics their mission with the latest knowledge, skills, and resources needed to achieve real results.
What Sets the University of Michigan-Flint Mathematics Program Apart?
Focus:
* UM-Flint's Master of Arts in Mathematics is designed to address the needs of in-service teachers, to deepen your understanding of mathematics and update your credentials as a teacher.
* The program is also applicable for those who wish to prepare to teach mathematics in the community college setting.
Flexibility:
* The 2 1/2 year program is part-time with evening and summer classes on the UM-Flint campus, scheduled to accommodate your commitments as a teacher.
* It is comprised of 30 graduate credit hours, including four core classes and a flexible set of electives.
Resources:
* Course instructors are student-focused and have doctoral degrees.
* UM-Flint MA in Mathematics students have access to the resources of the world-renowned University of Michigan system.
