Program Description:
The Master of Arts in Arts Administration offered at the University of Michigan-Flint is designed to address the needs of individuals wishing to prepare for roles as leaders in designing, implementing, and managing arts activities. Two concentrations are available:
Museum and Visual Arts
Performance
The program will provide you with leadership and other advanced skills in a wide range of areas such as artistic traditions and aesthetic styles, grant writing, personnel policies, fiscal management, and marketing.
The curriculum is composed of a set of core courses with specializations in visual arts (museum, galleries) and performance (music, theatre, and dance). Your core courses will focus on areas that are essential for all arts administrators while the specialized courses will enable you to examine in greater depth your selected areas of study.
