Program Information
Degree Offered
Ph.D.
Program Description:
The Behavioral Community Psychology Program represents a union of community psychology's traditional deductive-conceptual approach toward analyzing and improving social systems and behavioral psychology's inductive-empirical focus on changing behavior by understanding the antecedents and consequences that control it. Although behavioral-community work can be done at various levels (i.e., individuals, groups, organizations, communities, and even societies), the primary focus of the research at the University of Memphis involves organizations and communities.
