Program Description:
The graduate program in biomedical engineering, together with the corresponding program at Rutgers University, offers the M.S. and Ph.D., with options in physiological systems/biomedical instrumentation and biomechanics/biomaterials. After completion of the first year of study, each Ph.D. candidate selects a thesis adviser from either UMDNJ or Rutgers University. The Ph.D. degree is awarded based on completion and successful defense of a thesis based on original research. The program also offers the M.S. degree, including certification in prosthetics by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
