Program Description:
The Department of Education Policy, Planning, and Administration (EDPA) brings together people from diverse backgrounds and with diverse aspirations into a community of learners to wrestle with the tough issues of education policy, leadership, and reform within a social context of conflict, diversity, and change. Students are encouraged to become actively involved in both cooperative and independent inquiry, involving critical thinking about complex problems and ideas, and leading to reflective professional leadership through participation in graduate degree programs or non-degree professional certification options. Every program in the Department offers a combined emphasis on scholarship and professional preparation, focusing on the connections between theory, research, and practice.
