Program Description:
The goal of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program is to train ethical, professional counselors to meet the increasing demand for mental health services in a complex society with a diverse population. The program prepares students through curriculum designed to meet the academic requirements set forth by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. Students completing this program may sit for the National Counselor Exam (LPC and NBCC). The curriculum combines academic theory with skills development through applied techniques courses, practicum, and internship experiences taught in a cooperative and encouraging environment by a knowledgeable, competent, innovative, and supportive faculty.

The M.A Counseling and Psychology is accredited through the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs and the Council on Social Work Education
International Student Requirements:
Report of Medical History/Evaluation form; Official transcripts from all schools; GRE/GMAT; Completed Statement of Understanding; TOEFL score of at least 80 or IELTS score of at least 5.5.
