Program Description:

The Division of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Leeds offers opportunities for graduate study at both the taught course and research levels. A limited number of graduate scholarships are also available. The MA in History and Philosophy of Science has been significantly re-worked to take advantage of the combination of recently acquired expertise in the history, philosophy and sociology of science, technology and medicine and to offer students greater choice of 'streams' to follow. PhD and MPhil research can be supervised in a wide range of areas, covering the history and philosophy of physics, the history and philosophy of biology, the social history of instruments and laboratories, the social history of medicine, the history of chemistry, science and religion, science and literature, and theories and models in science.
