MA.-Applied Translation Studies
Format: Campus
Program Description:
It has been said that if Teaching English as a Foreign Language was one of the major academic growth industries of the 1970s and 1980s, then in the 1990s its position is rapidly being challenged by the phenomenal expansion of Translation Studies. This can be seen for example in the vast and fascinating scholarly literature which has been developing over the last couple of decades, as commentators seek to gain a clearer understanding of some of the more theoretical aspects of translation and translating. However, it is not only the academic wing of the discipline which has undergone such rapid growth, as the demand for translators world-wide has soared.
