Program Information
Degree Offered
Graduate Certificate in Women's Studies
Program Description:
The Women's Studies Program at Western Kentucky University was established in the early 1990's. We are an interdisiplinary program working cooperatively with departments to provide a curriculum that examines women's experiences, contributions, histories, and needs, as well as the ways in which gender roles concern both women and men. Our core courses and electives give students the opportunity to study the methods and values through which people of all cultures and historical periods construct their identities and social realities. We offer an undergraduate minor and a graduate certificate. We also sponsor special events every semester, bringing a wide range of feminist perspectives to the community.
