Program Description:

The Department of History at the University of Kentucky offers programs leading to the degrees of Master of Artsand Doctor of Philosophy. The teaching and research interests of its faculty make it possible for doctoral candidatesto specialize in most periods of European, English, and American history or in any of a wide range of topical areassuch as women's history, the history of science and medicine or social or diplomatic history. Requirements forboth degrees are intended to make it possible for students to develop their special interests. In recent years, thedepartment has had over one hundred graduate students, most of them full-time.
