Program Description:
The Ph.D. program in the School of Business seeks to prepare students for an active career in research and teaching. Students are: (1) provided with a comprehensive knowledge of existing research in their chosen field and related discipline, (2) given a thorough understanding of relevant research methodology, and (3) prepared so that they develop the capacity to conduct quality research, direct research by others, and effectively communicate research findings through their writing. Through teaching seminars and classroom experience, students develop their teaching skills in their area of specialization. The program emphasizes basic knowledge in core areas such as Probability and Statistics. Subsequently, each student specializes in one of eight areas of concentration - Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Decision Sciences, Organizational Behavior, and Strategic Management.
