Program Description:
KU's first music education Ph.D. was granted in 1951. From that time through May 1996, 99 music education doctorates have been earned at KU. More than 400 master's degrees have been completed. Division graduates have achieved positions of leadership as deans, directors of schools, chairpersons, directors of music therapy, and faculty members in the Big Ten, Big Twelve, Southeastern, and Southwestern conferences, as well as at other major universities and colleges in the U.S. and abroad. Others have taken leadership positions in public schools and clinical institutions.
