The Department of Anthropology offers graduate training in archaeology, biological anthropology, anthropological linguistics, and sociocultural anthropology. The department is strong in applied anthropology, anthropological genetics, evolutionary studies, medical anthropology, Native American linguistics, paleoanthropology, symbolic anthropology, and New World prehistory. Geographic areas include Asia, Europe, Latin America, Native North America, the Pacific, sub-Saharan Africa, and the contemporary United States.
