Program Description:
The MS and Ph.D. programs in Bioengineering provide training in the research and development of systems that apply modern technology to problems of living systems and health care. Specialization in bioengineering trains the students to apply engineering concepts and methods to the life sciences and medicine. The Bioengineering Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) offers five areas of concentration: Cell and Tissue Engineering; Neural Engineering; Biomechanics and Rehabilitation Engineering; Biomedical Imaging and Visualization; and Biological Interfaces and Biomaterials.
