Program Description:
The photography/digital media area offers a concentrated hands-on program in photography and media production. In addition to black and white and color still photography, courses and graduate studios are offered in multimedia, that is, computer imaging, desktop video, interactive media, and the Web. Related arts include photo-silk screen, public art, and installation as well as painting, sculpture, and both graphic and interior design. Seminar topics change regularly and have dealt with a wide range of subjects from 19th Century to contemporary photo-history to semiotic analysis and issues of interpretation and representation to simulacra and cyber culture.
