Program Description:

The Teacher Education Program offers courses related to professional development, teaching methods, and field experiences for teacher certification students as well as a Master's of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction. The M. S. in Curriculum and Instruction is an interdisciplinary degree which includes curriculum core areas of curriculum theory and design, curriculum planning and evaluation, instructional strategies design and implementation, and subject specific methods and content. The program is designed for the professional development of practicing elementary and secondary teachers. Courses provide knowledge and skill for becoming a master teacher, team or department chair, or curriculum writer. Some coursework may be applicable toward initial or additional teaching certifications.
