Program Description:
A rigorous, flexible program of study which enables you either to specialise in Human Resource Management or Industrial Relations, or select a combination of modules in these areas. You can also choose to follow the professional route and so gain partial exemption from the examinations of the Institute of Personnel and Development. The program will appeal particularly to practising personnel, industrial relations or equal opportunities specialists; trade unionists and trade union officials; and to those responsible for managing people, or with an interest in employment studies. In addition, the program offers the option of building a contemporary, critical or applied course of study. The core subjects are complemented by a range of options which enable you to pursue your own particular interests. Subject to demand and availability, the options are: Discrimination in employment; human resource development; IPD practice; IR and privatisation; Japanese management; labour economics; labour law; management development; organisational behaviour; women in the labour market.
