Program Description:

This program has been successfully running since 1994. It produces professional engineers who are equipped to understand, manage and apply current and future technologies to the development of highly competitive products. The scheme is organised by a consortium led by the University of Hertfordshire. Each member is a recognised specialist in various fields of automotive engineering with strong industrial links. They include Birmingham University, Luton University, Loughborough University and The Open University. The program is aimed at providing further professional training required by engineers working in the automotive industry, including suppliers and distributors so that they can successfully meet the challenges facing the industry. A significant amount of teaching will be undertaken by senior industrialists to maintain industrial relevance and give up-to-date case histories.The Management Committee responsible for the program includes representatives from Ford Automotive Operations, Lotus Engineering Ltd, Ricardo Consulting Engineers Ltd, Vauxhall Motors Ltd and Jaguar Cars Ltd.
