The human and animal cognition program brings together historical, current, and emerging concepts in cognition. By addressing both human and animal cognition, recognition is given to the philosophy that cognition is a basic biological development in the animal species. Therefore, it is of interest to consider both the specializations in cognition at the human level and the overlaps and divergencies of human cognition with animal cognition in its various forms.
