Program Information
Degree Offered
M.A.- Communication
Format: Campus
Program Description:
The School of Communication offers a Master of Arts intended for students seeking an advanced degree that provides breadth and depth in the study of human and mediated communication. The program offers a unique blend of
courses and seminars in which the social sciences and the humanities play a central role. The coursework and research opportunities are designed for students who wish to pursue scholarly interests in the field of communication,
media, advertising, public relations or organizational communication. The program allows students flexibility in the selection of coursework and encourages students
to decide, in consultation with an advisor, the extent to which they wish greater breadth or a more narrow focus in their study of communication.
Our graduate classes typically have 10 to 20 students, just the right size for dynamic class discussions and active learning through projects and presentations. They also are sized right for close relationships between faculty and students. Faculty can get to know you and offer more personal and individualized instruction. Conveniently scheduled in the evening, our classes have a rich mixture of traditional full-time graduate students and working professionals taking a class or two each term. Our students come from a broad range of backgrounds.
