Program Description:
This prestigious program, which is offered through the University's Hartford Art School (HAS), is designed for Illustrator/Designers looking to enhance their illustration skills, active professional illustrators seeking stimulation and an infusion of ideas and those seeking an advance degree for a career in education. You will work closely with leading illustrators in the only Low Residency MFA program in the country dedicated exclusively to illustration. All the while maintaining your current professional and personal commitments. While executing their assignments, students will learn to "Initiate their own assignments" "Polish their skills in marketing and promotion" and "Have the opportunity to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills." Students will benefit immeasurably by studying alongside other intensely motivated and highly talented artists, who share their commitment to the field of illustration. The cornerstones of the program are three intensive two-week summer residencies in July on the University of Hartford campus, where students take studio classes and attend lectures given by some of the top illustrators in the field.
