Program Information

Degree Offered

Ed.D. Educational Leadership

Format: Campus

Program Description:

The Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership (Ed.D) at the University of Hartford is designed to reflect the latest thinking and research on leadership, organizations, and institutional change, particularly in higher education. We use a cohort model and deliberately seek to maintain a diverse student body, drawn from universities, colleges, schools, health-related professions, government, and human service organizations. What these individuals have in common is they are typically fully employed and bring with them significant work experience and a decided dedication to the improvement of possibilities for their respective constituencies. The Ed.D. program facilitates study for working adults who progress through the program taking two courses each academic session (summer, fall, spring). The diversity of each cohort lends itself to rich student-faculty interactions in and out of the classroom. This, in turn, leads to a sense of shared commitment to supporting individual acquisition of cognitive understandings, application of knowledge, practice and development of leadership skills, and the conduct of research.
