Program Description:
Course aims to prepare you for entry into the teaching profession through developing your expertise in teaching children aged either three to seven years or five to eleven years.
This course gives a high priority to developing your abilities of analysis, evaluation and autonomous learning and development.
The PGCE course is taught in partnership with a range of primary
schools and early years settings. During the course, you will be placed in at least two different schools. In all school placements you will work alongside experienced teachers to develop your understanding of how to promote learning and a love of learning with your class.
In preparing you to meet the standards for Qualified Teacher Status, this course offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and professionalism within a supportive learning environment.

Eligibility Requirements:
An Honours degree (2.2 or above) preferably in a subject that is relevant to the primary school curriculum,
GCSE qualifications at Grade C or above in English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject
Evidence of successful experience in a primary classroom (a minimum of 10 full days is advised).
Successful completion of the literacy and numeracy professional skills tests
In addition to the above, successful applicants will be required to complete two weeks school experience in a primary school before commencing the PGCE course. This will be to complete set tasks in preparation for training.
