Program Information

Degree Offered

M.S.- Statistics;, Ph.D.- Statistics

Program Description:

The Department was originally formed in 1964 as the Department of Statistics and Computer Science and remained such until 1984. We have retained that strong emphasis on computing and maintain our own state-of-the-art computing network. In addition, we have maintained the three-fold mission of teaching, research, and service.
Our teaching has provided students with a broad foundation in statistical theory and applications. Such training has enabled our graduates to earn jobs in government, all branches of industry, and academia.
We currently maintain a broad spectrum of research, with many of our faculty active in cross-disciplinary research projects.
